Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Neku ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by [Neku], based in Greece. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Neku Is

Neku is an AI-powered writing companion that helps writers develop their work. The Companion feature provides prompts, reflections, and challenges based on your writing — it does not generate prose on your behalf.

2. Your Account

To use Neku you must sign in with a Google account or an email and password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any password you create. You must be at least 16 years old to use Neku.

You may only create one account per person. You may not share your account with others.

3. Your Content

You own everything you write in Neku. We do not claim any rights over your stories, notes, or any other content you create.

By using the Companion feature, you grant us a limited, temporary licence to send relevant portions of your writing to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely for the purpose of generating Companion responses. This licence ends when you delete the relevant content or your account.

You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Neku for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the service
  • Use the Companion feature to generate content that is harmful, abusive, or illegal
  • Attempt to circumvent any subscription or usage limits
  • Share your account or access tokens with others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Subscription and Billing

Neku offers free and paid plans. Paid plans are billed through LemonSqueezy.

Free trial

New accounts receive a 21-day free trial with full access to all features, including the Companion and Storyboard. No payment details are required to start your trial. At the end of the trial period, your account automatically continues on the free plan — you will not be charged. Features exclusive to paid plans (currently the Companion and Storyboard) will no longer be accessible until you upgrade.

Paid plans

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
  • If you delete your account, your active subscription will be cancelled automatically
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods unless required by law

Pricing is displayed at the point of purchase and may change with reasonable notice.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Companion feature uses Anthropic's Claude AI model. AI responses are provided for creative inspiration only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or appropriateness of any AI-generated response. You are solely responsible for how you use Companion output in your work.

Anthropic does not use data sent via the API to train its models. Your writing is not used to improve any AI system.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Neku available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the service at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant downtime where possible.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. This will permanently delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Neku is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, loss of revenue, or indirect damages arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Greek courts. However, if you are a consumer residing in another country, you may also have the right to bring a claim in your local courts and benefit from mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

As an EU consumer, you also have access to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply in full.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email of any significant changes. Continued use of Neku after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
